Choose Shopify when selling is the core of your business and you want a reliable, managed commerce platform. Choose WordPress with WooCommerce when content and flexibility matter as much as commerce, or when you need custom functionality around the store.

Commerce
Shopify is commerce-first: checkout, payments, inventory and shipping are handled for you, and its checkout is highly optimized and PCI-compliant out of the box. That reliability is a genuine advantage for stores where uptime and conversion are everything.
WooCommerce is commerce built on top of WordPress. It's extremely flexible — custom product types, pricing logic and workflows — but you own more of the maintenance and hosting decisions.
Content and flexibility
WordPress is unmatched for content: blogs, resource libraries, landing pages and complex editorial workflows. If your growth strategy leans on content and SEO, that flexibility is valuable.

Pick Shopify if: selling is the priority, you want managed reliability, and you value speed to launch. Pick WooCommerce/WordPress if: content and custom functionality matter, you want full ownership, and you have a plan for maintenance.
Whichever you choose, invest in performance, clean information architecture and SEO foundations — those matter more than the logo on the platform.
